Coming into hospital as an in-patient
The following information is for adult
patients coming to Bupa Cromwell Hospital for a daycase procedure
or as an in-patient. Information for parents of children being
admitted to the hospital can be found on our Paediatric Centre website.
We understand that coming into hospital can
be a worrying time not only for our patients but also
for their families. At Bupa Cromwell Hospital you will
find a friendly, caring and safe environment. Our nursing and medical staff will be on hand to do
everything they can to make your stay as comfortable as possible
and get you back on the road to recovery. You will be
catered for in single en-suite bedrooms by our highly experienced
hotel services team who will give you individual
care and attention.
Specialised Nursing Care
While our nursing and medical staff are
specifically trained in their area of care, we also have highly
specialised staff. For example:
- we have a comprehensive Infection Control Team, as well as infection
trained ward based staff
- we have specialist nurses in Wound Care, to ensure patients
requiring complex wound care are looked after by an
expert. They can also advise and support other staff to care
for patients in order to prevent pressure ulcers (bed sores) or
complications resulting from patient’s wounds.
- our Cancer Centre has trained
specialists in Palliative Care and Breast Care, who do everything
that is needed in supporting patients who are
undergoing treatment. They can provide counselling and
emotional support for patients and families as well as specialist
clinical care.
- our Paediatric Centre has enhanced
their service with a Play Specialist, who works
alongside the nursing staff, children and parents to make
their hospital experience a more positive one
- our Critical Care Unit has the expertise and
experience to care for very ill patients in our Intensive Care Unit
or High Dependency Unit
