Nutrition and Dietetics
The Department provides full nutritional assessments and advice
on how best to meet the nutritional requirements of individual
patients; this may involve the provision of nutritional
supplementation or full nutritional support via nasogastric or
gastrostomy tubes or parenteral nutrition. Advice and education is
provided to patients regarding appropriate diet for conditions such
as obesity, diabetes, high lipids/heart disease, renal failure,
liver disease, cancer etc. There is also a dedicated specialist
paediatric service available.
