Audiology

 

Cromwell Hospital has a committed team of Consultant Audiologists and scientists dedicated to providing a complete audiological service for adults and children. The Department is based in a custom built sound proofed suite of rooms, ensuring that all external noises are screened out. The multi-specialist team provides assessment and treatment of audiological disorders and works closely with the ENT Surgeons based in the Hospital.

  • Full vestibular function and neurotological investigations with brainstem evoked responses
  • Pure tone audiometry and tympanometry for hearing assessments
  • Oto-acoustic emissions for children and adults
  • Tinnitus and vertigo assessment and therapy
  • Repositioning maneouvre for treatment of dizziness
  • State of the art hearing aid provision and fitting
  • Speech and language therapy (see Speech and Language Therapy section)
  • ABR (air and bone conduction), including frequency specific

Drs can refer patients using printed request forms which are available directly from Audiology, alternatively please call the Department directly to make an appointment.

How members of the public can access the department
Patients must be referred by their Doctor
